Yolngu Nations Aboriginal Corporation
ABN: 45385228127
Yolngu Nations Aboriginal Corporation (YNAC) is a registered Australian charity for advancing social or public welfare, advancing religion and advancing culture. It is a public benevolent institution.
This arm of Yolngu Nations Assembly allows for a recognisable entity under the Australian system of law, thereby creating a way for immediate engagement with the Australian and international community. This arm also provides a structure for provision or facilitation of services for the people, fulfilling a section of the administrative and executive support (Yothu) role identified in the Foundational Symbol.
As the image shows the members of YNAC are those men with the traditional governance title Djirrikaymirr and Ḏalkarramirr, and women with the title Goŋ-gaṉmirr. This membership was chosen to connect the body directly with Yolŋu law. The Djirrikaymirr and Ḏalkarramirr men are leaders from within the Ŋärra' institution (the Yolŋu institution of nationhood) and the Goŋ-gaṉmirr women make the basket for the Dhulmu Mulka Bathi, which is a central article of maḏayin law.
YNAC facilitates Makarr Dhuni partnership agreements and oversees the adherence of governance procedures for these groups.
